Church Today...

Was good, also know as G double O D GOOD!! This is just a little bit of the sermon.
Mark 4:3-8
3 "Listen! A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. 5 Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. 6 And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. 8 And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold."
Mark 4:13-20
13 And he said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them. 16 And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: the ones who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy. 17 And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away. 18 And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, 19 but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. 20 But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold."

Friday Night Sew-In Project

Back in October or I think the end of September we got a new washer and dryer. I have been wanting to make a tablecloth for them to keep the top from getting scratched up. I have had everything that I needed since November and I have finally made something to protect my nice new washer and dryer. So what do you think?

Have you made a crafty item this weekend?

December Fun

During the month of December we had some fun stuff going on.
At my work we played this game called Skinny Santa. If you click on the picture you can see Santa better but he is pretty much just like Gumby but a Santa. My supervisor and boss would hide him everyday and who ever found him got a five dollar gift card and then on the 2nd to last day the gift card was ten dollars and the last day it was twenty dollars. This was so much fun. If you are a boss or supervisor and you want something fun to boost morale or let the stressful mind rest this is the game to play. Of course it doesn't have to be a Santa, it could be a rubber mouse or baseball hat.
I am not trying to brag but I will say that I won 2 five dollar gift card and the twenty dollar gift card. I found him 3 other times but they cut me off after the 2 cards so I quietly helped others find him.
Well, yes you are reading the sign below correctly. Someone STOLE our reindeer. One Sunday I had to go out in the rain to take them out of the "not so nice to your children's eyes" position that they were in and then Wednesday when I got home they were gone. We made the sign and ran out of room to write more. But I guess we got the point out. Here is a picture of the reindeer in the back of Keith's truck all lite up last year.

Last summer, the state of Georgia was in a huge drought. It was really bad, in the city of Atlanta they could only take a shower ever other day. Our Governor Sonny Purdue declared a national day of prayer for rain and God has blessed us this year that's for sure. Here is pasture that is about 3 acres that we pass everyday going into town. These poor cows have hardly no place to stand or lay. This pasture has looked like this about 5 times since August. We have truly been blessed and are out of a drought.

Our rainfall as of last week is 30 inches above the highest it has ever been since they have been keeping record.

Have a Very Merry Christmas

I hope that you all will have a great Christmas and get to spend some time with family. We are so lucky to be able to have this holiday to bring everyone together but please keep in mind while we celebrate Christmas, this holiday would not be a holiday without Christ. So, remember the reason for the season.

Merry Christmas!!!

I Learned Something about Seams

I never knew this and sure wish I had. I would have saved days, probably a week surfing the web and youtube trying to find out how to fix my problem.
Here is the problem: I took two pieces of fabric and faced them right sides together sewed all the way around them except for enough room to turn it right side out. Then I trimed the corners and turned it right side out. I needed it to be flat so I ironed it. But I keep having this no where near perfect flat seam/edge. Yes, you are seeing money fabric. These are gifts for my co-workers.So I emailed Amy and she helped a little but then last night again searching the web for hours, I found this article and read this "The Point Presser side is designed so seam allowances that will eventually be encased and pressed together – like those on collars, cuffs, pockets, waistbands, facings and more – can first be pressed open and flat so there’s no need to struggle aligning the edges when turned." Ta Da that means I am suppose to press open the seams before turning it right side out. Then when I try to iron it flat it will be flat. It worked like a charm. The only down side was that it was 8:45pm at night and I am trying to get in bed by 9:00pm so I well be nice and rested at 4:45am when the alarm goes off.
So Dad if you are reading this a Point Presser is on my gift list for 2010.

A Late Thanksgiving Post

What were you thankful for on that special day? I was and still am thankful for my sweet and funny husband seen here acting a fool while getting sun block put on at the beach.
I am also very thankful for my house. My uncle lost his whole house to a fire a few months back.

I found this really neat website where you can do a inventory of everything in your home. That way if something bad does happen (cross your fingers it doesn't happen) then your insurance company will have everything they need, all neat and in order. The site is Know Your Stuff and it's FREE so check it out.

Also on Thanksgiving day we moved all the furniture out of our bedroom and I shampooed the carpets. Have you ever heard that if you put ice cubes in the indentations the furniture made that when the ice melts the carpet will pop back up? Well if you did hear that I will just save you time staring at the ice waiting on it to do its magic and tell you it doesn't work.

Here is my Aunt Margaret and Dad on Thanksgiving day at my Mom's.

And here is everyone.
