All About Me Quilts

I am planning on making one of these for everyone in my and my husbands family. This is not something that will be done quickly but will eventually get done. So here are the fabrics that I have picked out for my sister and my Aunt Margaret who you might as well call my sister. I have a questioner that I am going to mail to everyone to get more details about their childhood hobbies and things like favorite food dream vacation and so on. That way I will be able to get the best fabrics to match them. I have a feeling I will not get them all but but I guess if you snooze you loose and that will be the case.

Beach + Fishing = Great Fish Dinner

This is the fish Keith and his brother Kevin caught while fishing at the beach in July. The fish was really good and the shark was great for lunch the next day.

Chuck's Boat

My Dad’s good friend Chuck has been building a sailboat for the past 3 1/2 years. The boat is 21 feet long and 7 feet wide. It is made mostly of 3/8 inch exterior plywood and southern yellow pine. The exterior of the hull is covered in 8 ounce fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. All the hull and motor well seams, angles and edges are double or triple layered in glass cloth. The boat is painted with Lowe’s premium quality acrylic exterior house paint. It will be powered with a 60 horse 2 strokes Mercury outboard. The engine will be installed in a motor well 3 feet forward of the transom.

The boat building process got to a stand still because it needed to be taken off of the frame that it was built on and loaded onto the trailer. So in June (I am a little late posting) Keith and I, my dad and Chuck’s neighbor Andrew came to the rescue. Keith and I got there a little late but I took pictures and Keith helped as needed.

It is so neat knowing great people who are talented with their hands. I hope that one day I will be thought of in this manner.

My Quilt Is DONE, I Said DONE!!!

This is my very first quilt and after I washed it there was a little spot that I need to sew shut but besides that it is DONE.

Dad's Sewing Class

My dad came over this afternoon and used my sewing machine. He did it all by himself and made a pouch to hold his newest tools. He did a great job and had a blast knowing that his daughter was teaching him how to do something. Enjoy the pictures!

A Great Website

I wanted to let everyone know about this great website I just discovered. Well, I found it by reading Spring Water Design's blog. The great website is Freecycle. It was very confusing for me trying to figure out how to sign up and all that stuff but well worth the trouble.

The Beautiful Part of Kayaking

Looking at the algae ribbons in the water. I have no idea why but it was so neat to me to be able to touch this slimy stuff.
Eating in the small town of Thomaston and seeing people riding on the 4 lane road in a golf cart. Small towns are great.

Floating in the water by pretty geese and being able to soak up what God has created for us.

The Not So Fun Part of Kayaking

Having to stop twice to drain water out of Keith's kayak.

Keith almost sinking his kayak. He said that he was so scared. This picture was taken just seconds after he jumped up. Needless to say I didn't not go that same route.

Watching kids play and knowing that I could never play like a kids again and have that much fun.

The hot sun beating down on us and the water was luke warm.

Loading up everything and trying to make sure you haven't forgotten something.
